What's the difference between a pillow sham and a pillow case?

A pillow sham opens in the back and is often more decorative, while a pillowcase is designed to sleep on every night and has an opening on one of the short sides. Pillow shams are included in our duvet cover sets, while pillowcases are included in our sheet sets.
