My White Noise machine will not connect with the app, what do I do?

Sometimes Bluetooth can get stuck in a bad operating state (with either the app or the white noise machine), especially if there has been a recent software update. To ensure a good starting point, let’s try the steps below.

1. Ensure Bluetooth Permission is enabled for the app. To check, go to Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth and make sure it is enabled for the T&N White Noise Machine app.

2. Ensure Airplane mode is disabled.

3. In iOS, Bluetooth can be temporarily disabled for 24 hours in the drop-down Control Center Screen or permanently turned off in Settings. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and toggle it off, and then back on again to make sure Bluetooth is fully turned on.

4. Ensure you have the latest version of the T&N + SNOOZ White Noise app installed 5. To check, go to the App Store > Tap the profile icon at the top of the screen > Scroll to see if there is a pending update. Alternatively, you can also search for the app in the Store to check for an update.

6. Turn off any Bluetooth headphones/speakers that are connected to your phone. These devices should be okay, but it is possible for them to cause occasional interference.

7. Unplug your T&N + SNOOZ White Noise Machine.

8. Restart the mobile device you are trying to connect with.

9. Plug your White Noise Machine back in and open the app to try to connect.

Android

1. Location permission is required by Android for an app to establish a Bluetooth connection. To check that this is enabled, go to Settings > Apps > T&N White Noise Machine > Permissions, and make sure location permissions are turned on.

2. Ensure Airplane mode is disabled.

3. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and toggle it off, and then back on again.

4. Ensure you have the latest version of the App installed. To check, go to the App Store > tap the profile icon at the top of the screen > Scroll to see if there is a pending update. Alternatively, you can also search for the App in the Store to check for an update.

5. Turn off any Bluetooth headphones/speakers that are connected to your phone. These devices should be okay, but it is possible for them to cause occasional interference.

6. If you are using an older version of the Spotify app, disable it or update it to the current version. Older versions can cause some connection issues.

7. Unplug your White Noise Machine.

8. Restart the mobile device you are trying to connect with.

9. Plug your White Noise Machine back in and open the app to try to connect.

If these steps don’t work, let’s try something else.

Reset your White Noise Machine

1. Turn on the White Noise Machine

2. Press and hold the Volume Up + Volume Down buttons simultaneously until the White Noise Machine turns off (approximately 5 seconds)

Reinstall the T&N + SNOOZ White Noise app

1. Delete the app from your phone

2. Restart your phone

3. Reinstall the app

Open the app and Connect

1. If prompted, make sure to grant Bluetooth (iOS) and Location (Android) permission. Your device will not allow a Bluetooth connection without granting these permissions.
